The location in Croatia (Agatha) was world class and we had a ball. So many safe bays to swim in and anchor up, great marinas to visit.

We stayed on the Moorings catamaran for a week and toured the Croatian Islands of Brac, Vis and Hvar. Josip, our skipper, was a delight. He found us great spots to visit and had everything all lined up according to our interests. Highly recommend!

An experience of a lifetime. Everything about the trip was fantastic. Romano the boats captain was the best. He provided guidance to us and always ensured we were safe and enjoying ourselves. He was always on time when picking us up and continued to check on the group when we were on land. Silvia the boats chef provided fresh dishes for every meal that were amazing. We would recommend this team to anyone looking for the best possible experience available.

Where do I begin…first, the Moorings hotel is not a nice hotel and in fact it is nasty. The entire process is a racket as they hook you into either a stay at the hotel or an early boarding overnight on the boat of which neither is a good option. They then pack you food, etc. from their overpriced store and send you on your way. As far as the boats themselves, we had a bare boast 40 foot power cat which was newer and had bow thrusters thank god but the beds were like sleeping on a park bench so very uncomfortable. We could not wait to get off the boat and sleep in a real bed! Overall the experience was fine but the boat was somewhat dirty upon boarding but the A/C worked well. The BVI area we were in was fabulous but with the wind it was always a bit rough when transiting from one moorage to the next. Bitter End yacht club and Peter Island were very nice moorage stop but avoid Scrub Island. Boaty Ball reservations were challenging but Soggy Dollar stop was worth the trip. Overall a decent experience but we would not do it again.

Had a fantastic couples trip for a week in May. Dino and Ana were first class all of the way. From planning our days to feeding us like royalty it could not have been better!

We charted for 10 days April 29th – May 9th, 2026. We chartered a 0-1 year new 46ft power Catamaran with a Captain. Our boat was Ragin Cajuns, our Captain was Shem. There were 3 couples plus a captain, so 7 people total. We were the Ragin Cajuns 3rd charter. Our trip was perfect, no problems at all. Captain Shem was a very capable and confident, yet easy going Captain. This is our third time chartering with the moorings. Although we are simewhat familiar with sailing, we chose a power Catamaran this time around and we couldn’t have asked for a better Captain. Shem was born and raised in Tortola and has been a Captain for 7 years. He knew everybody and had connections everywhere. Shem took us on a 10 day trip of a lifetime. The Moorings itself is well located with easy dock, room, and restaurant access and within walking distance to all the main shopping areas for food and beverage for your charter. Our booking agent was Michela, and she was fabulous. She answered all our questions & gave us a lot of suggestions.
Her replies via email to us over the 10 months until leaving was informative & extremely quick, always!. Staff at the moorings facility were friendly and welcoming. Our room was fine for being a hotel on a dock. We did a sleep aboard the first night to familiarize ourselves with the Catamaran. Captain Shem boarded the following day, introduced himself and eased all of our anxiety. He told us we were about to experience the best 10 days of our life and he was correct. Every aspect of our trip went off without a hitch. Shem pretty much anchored everywhere we went, saving mooring balls for other charters not as experienced or comfortable with anchoring. He took us to the best beaches, the best restaurants, the best known snorkeling spots, and the best secret snorkeling spots only a local would know. He maneuvered around cruise ship traffic. Everywhere we went to was not crowded this time of year. He has connections everywhere. He made our dinner reservations and dingied us wherever we wanted to go. We cooked our own lunches & dinners & also ate ashore. Shem was just awesome and made our trip absolutely unforgettable. We were last in the BVI 20yrs ago, pre Irma. It’s all completely different. Everyone has rebuilt so it was a familiar, yet, brand new experience. If you’re booking a vacation I would recommend getting
a newer boat and at least a captain.
We would all book with The Moorings again. The only thing Shem could improve on is his Domino game!

5 days sailing the BVI on a 50 ft cat with Georgios our Captain and Silvy our chef was amazing! Incredible food every meal. Great sailing and fun times! Best vacation in a long long time. Absolutely would do it again. But with Georgios and Silvy!

Our captain, Josip Eljuga, was exceptional. He worked around weather and crowds to make our experience enjoyable. He was knowledgeable, as well as patient to our many questions.
Croatia is a great place to visit. We always felt safe and the locals are very friendly.
In short, we had a ball. 🙂

Our newer 50′ CAT was perfect for our group of 10 adults with each cabin having its own bathroom & A/C control. This is mine & my husband’s 3rd sailing trip with The Moorings and this 50′ CAT with the 2nd floor seating area is our absolute favorite. It has so many seating areas it never felt crowded and with 2 refrigerators & 2 freezers, plus a large cooler on deck, we had plenty of space for groceries & spirits. Our hired Skipper Dwayne Y. was EXCELLENT, we totally scored! He really added so much to our sailing trip being tailored to our group’s idea of fun making this trip unforgettable. His sailing itinerary for us was ideal. Skipper Dwayne was incredibly knowledgeable about everything to do with sailing & Belize, we felt so safe and lucky he was assigned to us for our week. He helped us catch fish all week, as well as clean them. A few nights he even grilled the fish for us. All week long he made us laugh and we made him laugh too. He answered all our many questions and shared stories, culture & facts. He was so professional but at the same time he felt like our friend, he made everyone feel special. As our week was ending I was a little disappointed we had not snorkeled with a sea turtle, my spirit animal. When Dwayne heard this he made a really big attempt to find me a sea turtle & OMG he did it! We not only snorkeled with a sea turtle in the middle of the ocean, but also with 8 nurse sharks, a huge sting ray and dozens of fish all at the same time!! It was incredible, like being in an aquarium! Provisions tip: our CAT had plenty of storage space for food and dry goods. Buy all your provisions at Placencia because there really isn’t any other place to replenish provisions other than a small marina store, if it’s open. We were able to buy beer, ice and small bags of chips, that’s it. And it was more expensive. We can’t wait to book another Charter!!

We rented a 42 foot catamaran and the boat was spotless, flawless, and easy to Sail. Very enjoyable for six adults.

Great experience, the boat (catamaran) was perfect, all well organized. Beautiful places. The check in process is not that fast but the people was very nice and friendly. Maybe a pre purchase of food and delivery to the bot could be offered

5/19/26 We just completed an 8 day charter on Naughti Dawg with Captain Gilson Melo at Moorings. This is the second time we chartered in the BVI, the first time in 2018 we did a Bareboat and had to rely on finding our own way around the BVI with the help of a Flotilla. While the bareboat was fun, it really was a ton of work and after chartering with a great captain I now know how much extra work and responsibility bareboating is versus with a captain. I also now know all the amazing BVI hotspots that we did not go last time because we did not have a professional Captain on board.

For this trip we hired a professional captain and it was truly amazing, every day was awe inspiring. I simply cannot praise Captain Gilson enough, he brings a wealth of knowledge about the BVI resulting in the most awesome BVI charter experience. Having Captain Gilson at the helm and benefiting from all his expert yachting knowledge, his BVI wisdom and insights, and his hands-on approach to each activity ensures every day is a delightful adventure, and that the entire crew experiences everything there is to see and more in the BVI. I whole heartedly recommend Captain Gilson for anyone wishing to experience the BVI, especially if you want to see all the best locations, snorkel the most amazing reefs and caves, go Moking at Anagada, and enjoy the best dishes onboard and at the best restaurants.

Lastly, we did do the jump at Willy-Ts and Captain Gilson was right there beside us jumping, he was the one doing a back flip 🙂 Such an amazing trip for our entire family…

We enjoyed a bareboat charter with a captain at the moorings. The check-in was smooth, and our boat was all set for our adventure. Our captain was Mathieu Martinez, and he was truly amazing! He kept us safe throughout the trip and was a wonderful communicator with our family. He made our time on the boat incredibly easy, choosing fantastic snorkeling spots and being incredibly easygoing. We’re definitely planning to hire him again!

I had an absolutely unforgettable stay aboard the catamaran in the British Virgin Islands. The crew was exceptional — incredibly friendly, warm, and attentive, yet always respectful of our privacy. We felt completely at ease with them from the very first day, and our trust in them was absolute.
The cuisine on board was outstanding, far beyond what we expected. Every meal was delicious, beautifully prepared, and made with such care. One member of our group is coeliac, and the crew handled this with remarkable attention and professionalism. All meals were adapted safely and thoughtfully, without ever compromising on taste or quality.
This experience was truly perfect in every way. I would recommend this crew without hesitation to anyone looking for a magical and relaxing sailing vacation.

My parter and I spent a fantastic week on the Seadation 2.0 with excellent crew. Skipper Garth and chef/crew Christine were great with a vast knowledge and experience to provide ideal route to suit or needs. Sailing as often as possible. The sail to Anegada and back was wonderful. They keep the boat in spotless and like an “as new”condition. Amazing experience.

We just got back from celebrating my wife’s 60th birthday on Seas the Day with Captain Andy and Linzi. This our 4th time chartering with Moorings. This by far was our best experience. Andy and Linzi left no stone unturned in making sure our trip was exactly what we asked for. Linzi’s meals were impeccable! Linzi was very attentive to our dietary needs without sacrificing flavor or portions. You will never go hungry. Captain Andy made sure everyone was safe and comfortable. But most of all is his knowledge of the area. This enabled us to experience places which we had never seen. Our morning “chart chats” were informative and fun. The main thing that stood out to me was the cleanliness of organization of the boat. First Class!! I highly recommend this crew and will request them again on our next adventure.

We just returned from a fabulous one week sailing adventure with 3 other couples. We had a captain(Ricardo) and a first mate/chef (Anita) on the boat Nauti But Nice. They were both amazing! We were spoiled by their attentive service and wonderful meals. They had the boat stocked with all provisions including food, beer, wine and alcohol ! Anita made sure we were never hungry and Ricky handled the boat and dinghy like a master. In addition they were incredibly thoughtful and nice. We loved our time on the boat(5 cabin) and all of the island stops were unique and fun! This was our first sailing experience and we would certainly do it again!

Excellent excursion sailing with great friends. For 3 of us a return trip from our April 2024 adventure with Moorings. The catamaran was in excellent shape and well laid out. We rented the 5000 series with 5 staterooms and en-suite heads. My only complaint with Moorings is the pre departure briefing focused more on inventorying all items on the vessel with the briefing guy having us count every item onboard from utensils, pots and pans, cups to ropes, tools, etc and focused less on the actual operation of the vessel. Inventorying items onboard was a waste of an hour of briefing that should have already been completed by Moorings before we boarded. They failed to show us how to properly make fresh water and switch tanks that we were forced to have a mechanic come out to our boat 2 days into our sailing after depleting our water supply! They should have more focus on operational efficiency and less time of inventory concerns!!

Wow!! What an incredible trip!! Just got back from a 7 day crewed charter of the BVI. We were a party of 8 (4 couples) and we were lucky to have Romano and Silvia as our crew. They were so helpful and accommodating! We were treated so well, especially with Silvia’s delicious homemade meals and Romano’s special drinks! We had the best time!!! Thank you for everything!!
